Guiding Young Hearts and Minds
Guiding Young Hearts and Minds
Life's challenges can often leave us feeling adrift, especially for young people navigating a complex world. My passion lies in helping children and adolescents connect with their inner selves, understand their experiences, and cultivate deeper, more meaningful relationships. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, or challenging behaviors, or simply seeking to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, I'm here to build a therapeutic partnership that empowers them to thrive.
My approach is rooted in the belief that everyone, especially youth, longs to feel understood, valued, supported, and validated. I provide a safe, judgment-free space where young clients can openly explore their thoughts and emotions. I draw from a diverse toolkit of therapeutic modalities, including solution-focused brief therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing. Additionally, I incorporate EMDR-informed therapy to help process challenging experiences and promote healing from trauma. While focusing on the present and developing practical coping skills for daily life, we'll also gently explore past experiences and future aspirations when it supports their growth. My goal is to equip young individuals with the tools they need to navigate life's complexities and grow into the confident, resilient people they aspire to be.
I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. After gaining valuable experience with Communities in Schools, I pursued a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin, further solidifying my dedication to mental health therapy.
My clinical background spans working with children, teens, families, and adults facing a range of concerns, including behavioral issues, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and significant life transitions. I primarily work with youths aged 10 to 18, and consider clients younger than 10 or older than 18 on a case-by-case basis.
